Polypropylene and Polyethylene reaction buckets  Bookmark

Hello bee's,Swims friend owns a pizza resturaunt and has all different size(from 10L-20L)clear/opaque bucket type containers for sauce and the like, most of these containers are made of HDPE or PTPE(not for sure on this one just remember the TPE part)and some of the smaller ones(5L-7.5L)are just plain PP.Swim knows he can use the PP containers but it would be nice to have one of those 20L HDPE buckets with its own lid,so will anything ending in PP or PE work for most reactions that do not require external heating?thanks for clearing things up bee's.peace and bee safe,Chambered

Can't get the url tag to work!

Not sure about PTPE, is that another acronum for PET (PolyEthyleneTerephthalate)?

Edit:

Thanks, the link works as you said without the URL tags. Strange, I have posted lots of links here and before I used the tags.

Yes, I meant terephthalate; which I have now corrected.

you can just put the link directly. http://www.wheatonsci.com/html/ChemicalResistance%28Table7%29.html

you mean PolyEthyleneTerephthalate? ptpe isnt listed as a synonym for poly(ethylene terephthalate)in chemfinder.

HDPE stands for high density polyethylene, melting points up to 136°C.

im not sure why the url tags wont work anymore, but its easier this way anyhow.

i found a few lines referring to PTPE as a 'flourocarbon resin product'...if that helps.
