the url tags arent needed, just put link directly. if you think the link is worthwhile enough, you can add it to the list of chemistry resources sticky posted in the methods forum.

Phenyl-Propanol's from nutmeg essential oil?  Bookmark

Hi,
taking a look around that link, i noticed two interesting things about nutmeg... (they're right at the top!)
1-(3,4,5-TRIMETHOXYPHENYL)-2-(4-ALLYL-2,6-DIME...PROPAN-1-OL
1-(4-HYDROXY-3-METHOXYPHENYL)-2-(4-ALLYL-2,6DI...PROPAN-1-OL
would extracting these propanol's straight from nutmeg & aminating be a feasible method of producing tma-3 / escaline(??) or does the double bond have to be at the second position??
(My First Post!)

I'm new! Take everything i say with a pinch of RbCl!

Her Britannic Majesty's Government

The usual British civil servant spends each morning writing irrelevent reports and each afternoon feeding them into the shredder. This one had a brain storm and decided to analyse various materials for goodies.
