evasion of busts via tipoffs/undercover work

i just heard a statistic that said that 'in oz some 20% of lab busts are from undercover work/tipoffs from chem suppliers'.

so, this being the case... how much of a dent would a 22L reaction vessel and a 10L rotovap make to a chem supplier guy's attention if it were being sent to a company, say...
somethingorother chemical redistributors inc, somewhereorother
with the intention of being then sent on to another company, say...
somethingorother2 research inc, somewhereorother2?

could a guy expect a phone call from the supplier saying: oh you want a 10L rotovap do you? so what kind of research are you conducting? oh really?

or does that kind of shit ever happen? chems can always be split up between different suppliers but the glass has got me kind of concerned. its not the sort of thing that i want to be finding out trial-and-error style after the fact, you know?

i know it would be prudent to set up nested front companies, but for just one guy all on his lonesome (dont trust nobody) it would be a little bit of work.
what are your opinions?

1 front company - split up the orders around
multiple front companies - split the orders around that way
1 front redistributor and a nested front company or more to scrub the paper trail.

i'm not worried about fires or explosions, i can handle myself as far as safety is concerned... but the undercover element worries me, as i have mentioned. any advice would be appreciated.

I only read the first bit too, gets anoying...

I only read the first bit too, gets anoying when people dont format it properly.
And when the box for new posts say pick a subject which will tell people what your thread is about, just 20% as a subject wont tell us much!!

As for your case, as long as its to a company they can readily trace in business databases etc.... and reason for such a large volume is explainable.

For you, why 22L thats huge! unless industrial ala labtop but still thats not even big enough for his style.

Its just my opinion, but no-one listens to me anyway, and rightly so...

      Okay, where to begin....

God help you if you make contact with target company via email. However, on a more serious note, you will need to put more effort into future posts, if you aim to achieve any credability. Im guessing you are an amateur?! That leads me to believe that you are either not being realistic about your capabilities, or you are trying to gain credability by mentioning industrial size equipment and 'blabbering' about front businesses.
Now one thing i will say is that you dont have to explain your intentions when dealing with ANY company.
Now this advice will probably keep your ass out of jail.
Nearly all states in australia recently passed new legislation that requires selected chemical suppliers to alert their local chemical diversion desk whenever certain pieces of equipment are purchased. You will find 500mm condensors on this list, you will also find that any flask over 5l is on the magic list. In fact, there are alot of things that are now secretly being watched and there are hundreds of participating chemical suppliers.
You have been warned, and your dummy companies will do more harm than good! If you have any sense at all, then you will contact me via PM and request the list which states which pieces of equipment should be reported!!
And pull your socks up son, Australia needs many more soldiers so get your act together!

I'm a diamond that is tired, of all the faces i've aquired.

hey dr could you pm me the secret list too....

hey dr could you pm me the secret list too.... crazy

the only list i know of is the illicit drug code provided by pacia aust:
Pacia Illicit Drug Code (http://www.pacia.org.au/Health/IllicitDrugCode.pdf)
and the addition to it since its last publish date:
http://www.pacia.org.au/Health/IllicitDrug.html

The pdf document lists for aust the cat 1, 2 and 3 equiptment and chemicals which are watched, it describes the classes, good read, learn it! and esp the addition, the page is a chemical addition to cat 1, mainly for ghb stuff 1,4-bd etc...
also contains a list of the companies which follow this code at the end.... stay away!

but dr if you have anything else could you please pm them to me (the things which are silently watched not on this list???)

Its just my opinion, but no-one listens to me anyway, and rightly so...
