Hi there,<br><br>Just wondering If Allyl Bromide can be made from Allyl Alcohol without using H<sub>2</sub>SO<sub>4</sub>.<br><br>I'm asking because I remember some bee suggesting it because he/she read it in one of their books.(sorry can't find the post).<br><br>Thanks,<br>Regards,<br>FF

Sure, PBr<sub>3</sub> or Br<sub>2</sub>/redP are both suitable alternatives to 48% HBr<sub>(aq)</sub>/H<sub>2</sub>SO<sub>4</sub>. Plain 48% HBr<sub>(aq)</sub> should also work, but probably with lowered yield.
