The conversion of P2Pol to P2P is an oxidation, not a reduction. In addition I suggest you type the following line to TFSE:<br><br><font color="green">acetaldehyde and ("benzyl chloride" or "benzyl bromide")</font color="green"><br><br>You will see that this is not a new idea and that it doesn't work so well as could be anticipated. This is the case with most methods that one can think of so <b>UTFSE before posting</b>, even if you have ADD. <br><br>Did you know there is a synthesis of acetaldehyde aka ethanal on Rhodium archive? Yes, it is an useful site indeed!

I find that most syn.on the site, as you decribed to be very flawed, and barely work.(Even though most come from vogel practial chemistry book. I do however find most syn. found from schools, and University to work most of the time. By the way I meant oxidation. The reason for this is because they do the same syn. year after year, and correct any mistakes on the way. Have you ever went to a university? ADDkid
