      Two-dogs procedure

in the acidic condensation of benzaldehyde with MEK, (HCl gas):  Has there been a method found for isolation of the product easily w/o distillation.  (Yes, distillation is available, I'd just prefer to skip dist. if at all possible.)

Act quickly or not at all.

      Not likely.

The last bayer-villiger reaction is relatively dirty and will yield several byproducts, and as some of them are bound to contain carbonyl functions, not even the bisulfite procedure will give you clean P2P. Distillation is probably not possible to skip.
