						Steam distillation is unfortunately a no-go for tryptamines. They are not volatile enough to pass over with the steam. A/B is the way to go here. You will however not get a pure crystalline compound out of it. More "goo" really, but the goo works as advertised never the less Regards Bandil Nuke the whales!

						Why do people avoid column chromatography for tryptamines?  you don't even have that much material.  And you'd get a pure product.  Is there oxidation or rearrangement going on that I'm unaware of? Act quickly or not at all.
