Dihydroergotamine/ergoloid mesylates are unfortunately useless, but ergotamine tartrate is a very good starting point for LSD synthesis.

Yes,the dihydroergotamines are useless which is why I was asking alchemy_bee why he was bothering to list them as if they were something useful.

Because he simply didn't know, and probably was looking for the other ergotamines and did not know the dihydro's were useless while the others were not. He listed them likely because he wanted to be as thorough as possible and include anything he thought might be useful.
In short, it is very likely that he simply was not aware they were worthless, and was trying to post something worthwhile.

Ya, sorry guys I had no idea the dihydros werent any good. Good to know though!
Just trying to give some back to the hive, i dont have tons to share yet (and this only my second post in this forum) but i do have access to medical persons, libraries and searching tools so i thought id just put some time in for everyone.

I did some more research and found in post by Obia that that paspalic acid is used to make dihydrolysergic acid derivatives like as the the ergoloid mesylates. Is there no way to reverse this?
