      Prices on Silver

What would be a normal price per gram for Silver metal?

The lowest prices i was able to find is 10 G for like 250 Euro / 295.051 USD.

Are these prices normal or am i being overcharged here?

How pure do you need the metal to be?

That depends a lot on the purity - the more decimals after the 99.x % the more expensive it is. Sterling 925 (jeweller's silver) is 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper in most cases, and if that is good enough for you, the price is a tenth of your quote.

( a bit off topic)
Currently there is 5mmol 2c-h + 10 mmol silver sulfate + 10 mmol i2 stirring, lets hope things are gonna be good after 17 hours.

Silver metal? silver sulfate? Could it be that swi-you is trying to avoid paying large amounts of $$ for silver sulfate? laugh Is this possible?

      even cheaper than that

1/10 that price would be about US $30 for 10 grams. A few weeks ago I got 62 grams (2 troy ounces) of 99.9% silver for US $12, in the form of bullion coins. It would have been a bit cheaper if I were willing to buy larger quantities at a time. Look for a coin dealer that has bullion coins/bars. Lab suppliers' prices for simple silver salts are ridiculous.

Looks like it's a buyers market for palladium at the moment too. If you've ever had the interest in getting some of this metal for whatever reasons now looks like a decent time to invest.

The Auzzie palladium coins are cool.

      I love precious metals.

I love precious metals. Right now I have silver, platinum, gold, palladium, ruthenium and iridium at home. Iridium kicks ass, it's soo damn heavy. I think I'm going to get more of it. I recently thought I would run out of iridium which I needed for a project I was working on. Until I weighted it. It looked like an estimated 4-5 grams or so, but actually it was over 30grams (sub-micron sized powder) in that tiny bottle it was stored in. Fucking cool stuff. I want more.
