      CWC in Oz

Found this on a internet search for other restrictions apart from the illicit drug code by pacia which may effect oz bees. Thought it may be of some use, dont think anyone else has reported this information specifically for australia yet....

If you want to look at the whole site -->
Australia's National Authority for the Chemical Weapons Convention (http://www.dfat.gov.au/cwco/)

Relevant documents -->
PDF - Common CWC Scheduled Chemicals (http://www.dfat.gov.au/cwco/download/basic_cwc_scheduled_chemicals_revised.pdf)
MS Excel - Expanded List of CWC-Scheduled Chemicals (not exhaustive) (http://www.dfat.gov.au/cwco/download/excel_expanded_cwc_scheduled_chemicals_amended.xls)
How the CWC Affects Industry (http://www.dfat.gov.au/cwco/#4)
-- Look at table 1 in this section of the page.
CWC-Scheduled chemicals and their relevance to chemical warfare (http://www.dfat.gov.au/cwco/download/table2_summary_schedules_relevance_cw_amended.pdf)
-- This is table 2 from the above link.
Civil Uses of CWC-Relevant Chemicals (http://www.dfat.gov.au/cwco/download/table3_examples_activites_relevant_cwc.pdf)
-- This is table 3 from the above link.

There is many more links but the above are the most important i think, but its good to have a read through the entire page as there is much more information and links to legal documentation etc...

Also as a side note....
The PACIA documentation for australia has some additions NOT in the PDF document.
As seen many times Illicit Drug Code (http://www.pacia.org.au/Health/IllicitDrugCode.pdf)
Addendum to the PDF document (http://www.pacia.org.au/Health/IllicitDrug.html)

It may not effect many people but its of some use if you want to read up on other regulations regarding chemicals in oz.

      Weird surveillance list

Bromobenzene is in schedule I whereas lysergic acid is in schedule II (together with calcium metal). They control also thorium salts in this schedule ?!? Strange!

the wierd listings come down to the risk of chemical abuse...

There are only a very limited scope of use for LSA (other than LSD cooking) so its not to much of a concern as identifying a LSD cook would be easy from LSA purchases...
Where as bromobenzene has millions of uses and could be used and abused many ways so it is subject to higher monitoring.

If that makes any sense....
Thats my thoughts anyway, just my ideas on the scheme of the chem lists.
