      Waterfree MeAm / MeOH Solution

Obvious a chemist would gass MeAm trough MeOH to yield a 8% MeAm/MeOH solution.
 But gassing this dangerous gas is not everyones thing.

Whats about this Reaktion?

MeAmHCl + NaOMe --> MeAm + NaCl + MeOH

MeAmHCl is soluted in MeOH and a NaOMe/MeOH solution is added. No Water and NaCl will probably be NP.
And cheap..........

      Workable

Yes, that should work. On my page there are some reductive aminations involving Titanium(IV)Isopropoxide where anhydrous methylamine freebase is made using MeNH2.HCl and triethylamine as the base. Using sodium methoxide should be no different, with the exception that NaCl will precipitate (Et3N.HCl doesn't).
