You cannot make lithium that way. | |||||||
LiOH + HCl -> LiCl + H2O You cannot practically make lithium from anything without resorting to electrolysis of molten lithium salts using an inert atmosphere. This technique has been discussed before, UTFSE. The Hive - Clandestine Chemists Without Borders |

Or you could just get it from batteries. However, it sounds to me like your knowledge of chemistry is perhaps too small to effectively perform a Birch reduction. The reaction and the apparatus required for it are extremely dangerous. You could severely burn yourself with ammonia, or cause an explosion. I suggest looking at Rhodium's site for Mr. Clean's guide to Birch reduction, then after you've been convinced that it's too dangerous, read up on matchbooks and red phosphorus.
