TCE/JD a thing of the past?

The last 3 times SWIG whipped up a batch he was gakked. SWIG has narrowed down to which brand of pills is creating the mess. SWIG can tell you that they are the generic white 60's with Triprolidine but fails to remember the inactives at the moment but will post them at soon as SWIG can find an old box.

SWIG has had great success with the TCE/JD cleaning method until lately. When basing the water layer will turn a very dark blue/green that appears thick and textuary. This will change to a dark orange if swirled vigorously.

Yeilds have not been affected by the gakk nor has the potency. Only problem is SWIG will have a lye layer from hell that must be ever so gently worked down. This is done by gently knocking down the uppper portion of the lye layer with a stir rod.

SWIG cleans his pills exactly as instructed when applying the TCE/JD method. And it has always done an excellent job except the last 3 times.

Hell, SWIG used to just pull the same pills with methanol along and never had the water layer turn to such an ugly mess. Is the TCE/JD losing it touch?

      No

The pills you are using just picked up the newer gakks.

mostly harmless

Howdy Geez and Beez!
Those lacking the ability and/or patience to digest the creativity aspects from a Tweekers point of view, may propel themselves down to the boldblue yonder to get at the meat of the matterblush

TCE/JD a thing of the past?
Is the TCE/JD losing it touch?

When looked at in the proper perspective, considering the many formulation changes over the past three years, there is only one correct answer!
Yes and Nolaugh
OTC Pfed Extraction today is the result of "OneUPmanship" gone haywire.
Each and every new brakethrew is met with a newer, finely engineered sophistication aimed specifically toward disabling the newest methods effectiveness.
This has created a layering effect in combination over time that target the critical areas of extraction in order to compromise either quality or quanity.
Preferably, according to the Jokers holding the other end of the wire in this tug of war, both quality AND quanity.
Anybee that's met two or more of those gaakhurdles and had the stamina to tell the tails, know first hand that you have to use the right tool for the right job and they've learned never throw out the whole tool chest because the tools they've aquired and invested in won't crack a particular leftnut. Every tool to date can be effectively employed but that doesn't suggest you'll never need a bigger pnuematic jackhammer at some point.
It's not always the leftnut's fault.
Nor is it always going to bee the righttool's fault.
The patients of the WingNutz revealed to Ibee and The Kidz the hard way, early on, that the sadistic Untweeker freaks can easily trip a Tweeker UP for weeks and months even, by simply throwing a reverse-thread in the mix, on top of the locktite, the occasionable spotweld, and few other unmentionable unwrenchibles!shocked
C`mon now??? A rervse-thread? How silly is that?
Well it's like that!

Sometimes it's a simple combination of Untweekers Tweeking things to prevent Tweekers from Untweeking things until there's a whole lot of tweeking and untweeking going on to see who can OutTorque who?tongue

Now that we've addressed some of the more serious aspects, let's have some fun...shall we?

According to Ibee, Yes it's true that the TCE/JD(...aka PurpleBeatJuice...aka JapTetraTone...aka The Slanted Egull)  is no longer effective as it once was at battling OII Gaak for which it was designed.
Why?
Because they've added another layer!
A suspected combination of polymers and co-polymers are preventing the release of OrangeII Gaak via acetone rinses. The JD was employed along with tetra to effectively remove tetra soluble polymers while at the same time disabling OII gaaks holding power, allowing OII gaaks solvation in acetone along with the residual heavymetal participates introduced by the Japan Drier along with suspected antihistamines.
Since the workaround was discovered using white60's w/antihists, it was difficult to determine the exact cause of the blueness. Especially since at the time Orange I Gaak was still reeking havoc and imparting a distinct blue color to basified solutions.
Logical deduction would hint heavily toward the JapDrier being the cause of the blueness having an ingredient with the name linked to a "Heavy Metal" family...crazy
Don't beelieve me? Invite a CrazyTrain packed full of headbangerz to an AWE-Nite Bash and see how long it takes `em pull out of the stationcool
Once this blueness was discovered after a TCE/JD wash applied to 120's that were antihist free...Ibee felt confident the blueness was heavymetal.
Hence, the  instruction to remove all traces of blue before proceeeding in the original write-ups.
Once the blue color was removed from the evapped pfed hcl via tone rinsing, bees could be relatively sure their efforts would result in gaakfree feedstock and the end result spoke for itself for a few months.
Ibee strongly recommends that no bee compromise the health and safety risks by continueing to use JD/TCE without making certain that this blueness is completely removed.
The suspected yellow oil discovered lately seems to be the encapsulating culprit that will ride through the JD/Tetra wash and may carry with it some unexpected health concerns noticed via bioassay.
Eudragit(comprised of classified mutagens) is one suspected denaturant protector that may be responsible for trapping the heavy metals in the xtal lattice and resisting solvation via acetone.
Recent experimentation supports this and follow up research also indicated that Eudragits Solubility factors clearly describe the solvents that can be employed successfully as the last step to break down it's hold on the OrangeII gaak that's holding onto the heavymetals that's holding onto the goodz.
More testing is being done on the health aspects and research goes on...
If it's blue...you're still not through, so don't act as if it will produce a consumable product out of frustration and failed attempts at removing these new gaaks.
Yes it's tempting to downplay this gaaks presence and run with less than pristeen clean feed.
Ibee is strongly recommending finding another route if bees are faced with this situation without arriving at an effective work-around. There are a few alternatives known to work in conjunction with the Slanted Egull.
Ibee would rather see a bee flush a substandard extraction attempt, than to continue on without concern to health and safety!
If it can't bee gotten right, it's not worth getting.
Take it for what it's worth!

clandestine dont be so arrogant, every pills...

clandestine dont be so arrogant, every pills different, for swim when he does extractions along the lines of tetra trap the first pull is the dirtiest. And the second gives equal yield and much cleaner.
Remember what works for one bee wont always work for another, own experimenting is the only way to go.

One more go around before hanging it up

Seems like a couple of times after crashing out the pseudo with tone there would still be a very, very light tint of blue present. This would clear up as the pseudo dried out. Sometimes two tone washes would be needed to cure the blue tint.

After reading your reply you spoke of the extreme importance of fully removing all traces of blue from the pseudo. This made SWIG realize that maybe SWIG should do more tone washes on his pseudo even if it appears snow white. Maybe this will help, but if not then SWIG will have to retire the PurpleBeatJuice and find a newer method to clean the ever so changing gakked to the max pills.

By the way Ware, didn't you suggest adding a few drops of acid when pulling the pseudo or something to that effect?

      Hmm Blue ,HUH

Swim cant remember how long ago it was now fellow bee's, But swim thinks it was a couple of years ago that there was talk about (BLUE SMURF DOPE), And this might bee were it startedshocked.
But anyway if thats what it is then this problem has already been beatwink.

Ask no question's, and i will tell no lies.
