Can Ethanol be substituted for methanol or DMF in the Wacker oxidation, with no other alterations in chemicals or procedure? Thanks a bunch |

Why would pressure be required? Ethanol boils at a higher temperature than methanol, is there something I'm missing here? |

There are two different O2 wackers. One uses pressurized O2. VL_ |

Sunlight: Yes medium pressure was used- 50 to 100 psi. Reactor was initially charged to 100psi and recharged after it dropped to 50psi. |
