Growing Mycellia on an agar slab  Bookmark

Can the spore/H2O solution from the bought syringe be applied directly to dry agar in a petri dish to grow Mycellia. would it be nescsary to provide some sort of surface or other nutrients for the Mycellia to grow, Perhaps some liquid dextrose  or does the agar provide all the nutrients nescesary. How moist should one keep the Culture of mycelia to promote vigorous growth while at the same time minimizing contamination. The usual distributers of the Spore syrenges claim that their syrenges will innoculate up to a dozen jars with 4 sites per jar.  Does this mean that 40 agar dishes could be produced from each syrenge using 1/4 cc per dish. or should each dish be innoculated with 1 full cc.  Since the medium is agar then swim thinks that 1/4 cc will be sufficent.
On second thought
If 25ml of PDA/dish prepared according to
PDA ** Potato Dextrose Agar

Autoclave 200 grams of sliced potato in 1000 mL of tap water. Filter through a hankerchief. Make potato salad for the family out of the potato residue. To the turbid filtrate add 20 grams of glucose and 10 grams of agar. Add water to make 1 liter total volume. Usually used as slants. PDA slants give good growth of most fungi, Agrobacterium, Nocardia, and many others.
Perhaps small, autoclaved scotchbrite squares would provide a good surface for the Mycellia to grow on. and the 1/4 cc be applied to the scotchbrite square.  Just brainstormin out load any comments.

Spores will germinate and grow on an agar surface in a petri dish. Use a standard potato-dextrose or potato-dextrose-yeast agar. I would guess that the 1/4 ml of liquid would be good.

dry agar

Agar is a mixture of wather, nuticiens and agaragar(yes)
You disolve app. 15g agaragar(the dry stuff) in 1L wather, ad som nutricients and let it boil until all the agaragar is disolved. Then you have a pasta you can melt into the petri dich and then grow the mycelia on. REED the PF'teck
One drop/petri is enough

Ghetto style :

Instead of using pertis, cut some solo cups, spray with disinfectant, and pplace in ziploc baggies . . . SWIMEME ran out of pertis, and had to do some clonin', and had a very good success with above . . .

If it worth doing, it is worth doing right.

having cute little petri dishes and looking all professional will ,  believe it or not,  make you feel better about yourself as a person. thanks

Fuck it, not a change for luck. A.M. has to grow together with a pine tree (symbiosis)

yeah, musciara has never been successfully grown to maturity indoors. mycelium maybe...but why? amanitas are legal for gods sake, they grow all over the place.

What was your point in growing the a. muscaria strain when one can usually find them in pine forests when it rains and is very humid?

musciara has never been successfully grown to maturity indoors to see if it could be done.
