Benzaldehyde chlorination w. SO2Cl2, does it work?

Does anyone have any data on the possibility of chlorinating various substituted benzaldehydes with sulfuryl chloride?

TFSE only gave this Post 465288 (Rhodium: "Methoxybenzaldehyde Demethylation w/ MgI2*Et2O", Novel Discourse), where the following is briefly mentioned in the references section:

(3) Compounds 2g and 3g were prepared by chlorination of corresponding salicylaldehydes with sulfuryl chloride, and these details will be reported soon in our synthetic study on mycochromenic acid.

It would be interesting to have some data on the chlorination of 2,5-dimethoxybenzaldehyde.
