The Reduction of ,-Unsaturated Nitroalkenes to Nitroalkanes With Trialkylborohydrides
Rajender S. Varma and George W. Kabalka
Synthetic Communications 14(12), 1093-1098 (1984) (../rhodium/pdf /varma-kabalka.1984a.pdf)

Abstract
,-Unsaturated nitroalkenes are reduced to nitronate salts by trialkylborohydrides. These salts are readily hydrolyzed on silica gel to the corresponding nitroalkanes in good yields.

A Convenient Reduction of ,-Unsaturated Nitroalkenes to Alkylamines Using Boron Hydrides
M. Soubei Mourad, Rajender S. Varma, George W. Kabalka
Synthetic Communications 14(12), 1099-1104 (1984) (../rhodium/pdf /varma-kabalka.1984b.pdf)

Abstract
,-Unsaturated nitroalkenes are reduced to alkylamines in good yields by excess of borane-THF in presence of catalytic amount of sodium borohydride.
