Hi,

i found out this recipe in net, but beacuse of my ignorance in chem i dont know how to preform it......i would like to know what is the relation betwen chemical and how is this done? This (racemic amphetamine (phenyl-2-aminopropane)), is this the real amphetamine, and what is the pure of it?

2-BROMO-N-PHENYLPROPIONAMIDE, upon treatment with aqueous sodium hypochlorite, this amide undergoes Hofmann rearrangement to form racemic amphetamine (phenyl-2-aminopropane).

how is anybody going to explain hofmann rearrangement to someone who knows jack shit about chemistry? i have to point out once again that self-education is the way to go here. why don't you www.fuckinggoogleit.com for "Hofmann rearrangement"?

i'll have to agree with joe_aldehyde on self-education .
just jumping in and want'n it to happen is not as eazie as one may read. as far as i go
read study hands on read study hands on and i'm gett'n it. but there is a pasion behind it as well. something has to motavate ya. saome money some other mine is
i can't seem to stop once i dive'd into the world of chemistry regardless of my complete mis- understanding and lack of it. I just can't stop learn'n. it is fun. but can cost the pocket a larger bit of change as well. if you can get some education'n going on learn all you can . if i could just do the snyth as well as i can read them i'd be golden.
takes work and it don't happen over night.

I also had a lack of chemistry and how things were supposed to work but i kept on the books for over a year before i even attempted a distallation. Once i knew how things were supposed to work through studying I found that they went very smooth.

Keep on trying to understand and if you get stuck ask for advice about what is going on. Im sure many here will be willing to help you figure it out. Good luck... Peac Out.

A lot of bee's put in a lot of time, study, trail and error sometimes when one just comes out of no where and ask , say a question, (as JDI did) one may expeance a shun. understanding that. I would say it's because it kind of gets personel form the bees that have work'd so hard to get what they know.
