Cinnamic Acid to Cinnamic Amide

I'm trying to find out how to convert cinnamic acid to cinnamic amide.Also the extraction of cinnamic aldehyde from oil of cinnamon and how to oxidize to cinnamic acid

heating ammonium cinnamate salt should give amide, of course this salt is made by titrating cinnamanic acid with ammonia.

should be able to oxidize cinnamadhyde with a Cr(VI), or with Cu(II) salt http://www.chemguide.co.uk/organicprops/carbonyls/oxidation.html
