Piperidine from Hydroxyethyl isobutyl piperdine carboxylate?

Hydroxyethyl isobutyl piperdine carboxylate

? Is there a way i can extract piperidine or turn this into piperidine? If piperidine can b derived from this chemical in any type of way it would b a benifit to all bees in this community! 4 this is a active ingredient in a OTC product. Very Happy

piperidine isnt as usefull as pyridine...
I dont think you could get piperidine out of this anyway by the looks of it, this is what chemdraw put up so unless you got the name wrong..

Oh.. i also changed the thread title, please in future remember to use something usefull as a title so when searching its easier to find.

it would be easy to get hydroxy ethyl piperidine from it by hydrolysis, and after seperation of the butyl alcohol, you could probobly oxidize it to piperidine carboxalic acid say by heating with nitric acid or permanganate and then decarboxylate.
all this said im sure the yields would be attrocious and it would be alot of work, and im not sure it would spontanously decarboxalate with heating.
