dl-alanine then l - alanine
Thu Jul 14, 2005 6:16 pm
reading a book or two I found this in org synth 1 page 21
Dl - alanine
A: CH3CHO + NH4Cl + NaCN -> CH3CH(NH2CN + NaCl + H2O
CH3CH(NH2)CN + 2H20 + HCl ->
CH3CH(NH3Cl)CO2H + NH4Cl
2 CH3CH(NH3Cl)CO2H + Pb(OH)2 ->
2CH3CH(NH2)CO2H + PbCl + H2O
and
B: CH3CHXCO2H + 2NH3 -> CH3CH(NH2)CO2H + NH4X
were X is any halide from chlorine up.
now ive made CH3CHClCO2H with out much problem with vertualy no glass at all.
what do you guys think we can do with this.
remeber of course were after L-alanine (I think:).
can we use d and l tataric acids on amino acids ?
