Is it possible to use an equation to determine your own bloods pH level after ingesting a specific amount of an acid?

For an example let’s use the following data:

200 pound human being with a regular blood pH level of 7.35 ingesting Hydrogen bromide as the acid in the form of dextromethorphan hydrobromide in a quantity of 900mg.

And if it's possible, what amount of dextromethorphan HBr would need to be ingested before your blood became acidotic?

thanks,

thats actually hard to tell since your blood has several buffer systems, amongst them carbonate and phosphate buffers.

since dextromethorphan is not a strong acid you sure won't have to worry about that. i guess you could safely ingest 1g of pure citric acid and still won't even notice anything but an upset stomach and some diarrhea.

the amount of ingested hydrobromide salt to noticably alter your blood ph level would be ridiculously high, you would surely die before acidosis from the effects of dextromethorphan.

you are right, it would take atleast about 2.5+ grams of pure DXM HBr to read an acidotic value, but was just an example.

thanks for the answer.
