Can someone help me with the following? I have a solution of alkaloids in ca(oh)2 The alkaloids are in the form of their calcium salts. When i evaporate the solution down, calcium is precipitating out. I dont know if the calcium salts of the alkaloid will precipitate out, too.

1. Can someone help me with this and tell me if the alkaloid-calciumsalts will precipitate out when i evaporate the solution down?

2. When about 5 gr. of alkaloids are extracted into 250 ml of calciumhydroxide, isnt that way to much liquid? From what I know about 7x the amount of the alkaloids is the maximum dillution from what one can still get precipitate.

The above is only theory of course.
