I've had the same problem with the search feature. Is there a browser setting that can solve the problem?

The page is not refreshed because it was generated using data submitted in a form. You can manually do this by hitting 'refresh' or 'F5', but it is not automatic (nor can it be disabled, at least in IE) because it would be a rather large security hole. Login information, credit card information (when ordering online), and most other types of information transmission is handled by form submission. For that to automatically resubmit would create some rather obvious breaches of security.

If you are planning on viewing more than one result from a search query, open each one in a new window/tab, as I explained above. This will preserve your query, along with lessening the load placed on the server.

Thanx for the tip. I'm already using Firefox, though. Probably security settings, based on what primathon said.

Another thing. I'm not sure why this happens, but...
I often link to new threads using the scrolling thing at the top of the forum page:
https://synthetikal.com/synthforum/index.php

If I click the link to another page of the same thread, I get an error.
It only happens when I link from the scrolling (java?) thing.
Am I the only one having this problem?
Any Suggestions?

Updates:

· Fixed grey box over the scrolling marquee on index.php for Firefox users
· Changed paging display on viewforum.php
· Changed forum header on index.php to display more information in less space
· Working more on main title header

More later,
Primathon

I know you noticed this one Wink

New logo! Hope you like it... Critique welcome, as always... I think at some point later I'm going to re-do the glass in the background; do some nice photoshop stuff to it, instead of simply the scan of a doodle I did on a legal pad...

I had to do a bit of tweaking to get it to line up right, so if anybody's browser is rendering it all wonky, tell me about it! AFIAK, it renders fine in IE6/win and FireFox 1.0.4.

Funny you should mention that... Now you'll notice that when you're entering a post, you can use google tags... You'll find out what I mean when you get in the post menu.

I still do not understand why I have problems navigating from the scrolling marquee. This only happens when linking to multi-page threads via the scrolling marquee. If I click the link (to a multi-page thread) in the scrolling marquee, I can only view the first page. When I try to link to the next page I get the following error.
Quote:
Error 404:
Missing page at /synthforum//about884-0-asc-15.html
Referering URL:https://www.synthetikal.com/synthforum//viewtopic.php?topic=884&forum=9
From: IP Address Masked
Server: www.synthetikal.com
Redirect code: 404

Does anyone have a suggestion? Has anyone else encountered the same problem or a similar one?

And BTW, I like the title image that was hand sketched on a legal pad. I would be interested in what you (primathon) could come up with. Keep up the good work.

I had never encountered this error before, in either IE or FireFox, but I just started getting it, and I think I know why... Notice the double slashes in the URL (/synthforum//about884-0-asc-15.html)... If you remove one of the slashes, it works fine. Use this as a workaround for right now, and I'm gonna get to the bottom of this... It's a silly error, so it should have an equally silly solution...

Also, it's probably not a good idea to post your IP address on this site. I took the liberty of masking it for you...
